Lavender is Popping up!

Lavender Café Bookstore is starting as a pop-up while we search for the perfect spot to open the brick and mortar. We will be bringing the New Orleans community books from LGBTQ+ and other under-represented authors as well as other queer and bookish gifts and art.

We need more LGBTQ+ culture and joy in the world now, not later, so that's exactly what we're bringing. Catch us at your favorite craft markets and literary events soon. Have one you think we're a good match for? Send us a dm on Instagram and let's make it happen!

The Future Vision of Lavender

Lavender will be a café and bookstore that acts as a cultural commons, a third space where community can refuel, reconnect, dream, and create towards a more liberated and joyful future.

During the day, you can grab some light breakfast, finish out a work project, and grab the latest from your favorite author. In the evening, read the latest while listening to some acoustic music and enjoying a mocktail and some snacks. Or we may be hosting a burlesque history author talk (with burlesque show) or a community activism panel.

LGBTQ+ led and inclusive to all, Lavender is an oasis for those who adore the written word and art in general, dream towards better futures, and love good, nourishing food even as we pop up. We are still searching for the right brick and mortar, with eyes on the St Roch, Marigny, Bywater, Treme, and Mid-City neighborhoods. Don't hesitate to reach out if you think you've got a lead!
